Text description of view | 2006-08-26 | eDB | This series of three photographs records the west baulks of loci k12, k11, and k101. It was taken to help understand the relationships among the various surfaces which formed the lower part of the BA temple mound and the revetment wall, f11, at various times it was in use. In this view, the northernmost of the three, one can see the baqaya surface, f50, of the mound as it was built in the Early Dynastic period, then a thin layer of gray soil, f90. Above is the first rebuilt wahal glacis, f152, a part of which may have incorporated red brick and baqaya elements. Traces of the second rebuild of the glacis, f241, may be shown on the middle left of the photo. A tannur, f3, used late in the occupation of the tell can be seen in the upper left of the photo.
