f70 has been assigned to the 'cleaning' of a small portion of locus k83, precisely: 30cm N from m4410 (the SE corner of k83) and 400cm W-E (this corresponds to the general wideness of the locus), and partially the portion of the E section of the locus (i.e., aprox. 30cm, in order to make it straight and avoid possible contamination while digging in the S portion of the locus). The south portion of locus in k83, was higher aprox. 30-40cm respect to the general elevation of locus k83, as a consequence of the excavations carried out in MZ17 in this portion of the locus (as visible in J2t61). f70 consists, in the top surface, of natural accumulations that build-up in the last two years, and of different natural accumulations (water-and wind born accumulations) that build-up this portion of the tell mound (as we have seen for all the other loci). We decided to remove the soil within this portion of the locus in a single pick-run, without differentiating between the various accumulations forming this portion of the locus in order to reach, in the south portion of k83, f71, the compact accumulation exposed in the remaining portion of locus k83. f70 therefore consists, in the top surface, of a soft and dusty accumulation, i.e., a water-and wind born accumulation that build-up here to the last two years (which is the same of f68), and by a compact surface below the latter, which is a natural accumulation (wind and water-born in nature) partially removed in the 2004 excavation season by mH.
