General notes on photos 1999-07-14 gb the SE corner of k4 is interesting because it has a number of layers of accumulation layers with high color contrast, as well as a brickfall overlay to seal the layers below. This photo illustrates this quite well and places it with respect to a newly discovered major wall, f155. [Input: J716JLW.j]
1999-07-17 jlw the SE corner of k4 is interesting because it is the intersection of a large number of contrasting accumulations and layers. The contrast is both in color and in texture. Brickfall, f87, caps alternating layers of black, red and brown soil (f98,f99,f100). Below, lays a pebble floor, f80, which abuts a large stone wall, f155. A baked brick pavement, f84, now only partially excavated, lies below the pebble floor. View 30a is a tighter shot focusing on the area including and above the pebble floor. View 30b highlights the overlaying brickfall which seals all the layers underneath. View 30c highlights the brickfall and an underlying destruction layer, f154, in the far SE corner of the locus. View 30d highlights the intersection of the wall, floor and accumulations f98, f99, and f100. [Input: J717JLW.j]
1999-07-26 jl v30 shows the stone platform/wall f155 in relation to the sherd floor f80 and the brick floor f84. v30a is essentially the same view, v30b is an overhead of the bricky mass f89, and v30c is a closeup of the stratigraphy of the tiny platform of earth south of f155. [Input: J726JL.j]
