Introduction

A peculiar dating system is in use for Tell Mozan files. It is specifically applied when there is the need for dating files to be uploaded onto the server.

System

The dating system is structured as follows:

  1. first slot: capital letter corresponding to dates (= Z) + capital letter for the year (e.g., 2023 = H; 2024 = I);
  2. second slot: number of the month (one digit):
    • from January to September: 1 up to 9;
    • from October to December: x = October; y = November; z = December:
  3. third slot: day (two digits).

Examples

Here two examples are offered:

  • December 1, 2023 → ZHz01;
  • January 15, 2024 → ZI115.
