2011-11-21 cJC This feature is described by the excavators as "bricky", which suggests it may be part of the brickfall in area. It is located north of the wall f288, however, which was not known to have any brickfall. See v161, which indicates the brickfall did not extend north of the wall. It is possible that it is bricky material associated with the construction of the wall rather than actual brickfall.
