Description (summary) 2001-09-16 jl This is the southern wall of a33. It is made out of large stones held together with mud mortar. We have been referring to it for two years as the south wall of the underground structure, but I did not assign it a feature number until now. It might also have an MZ12 feature number. It is slightly curved, since a33 is shaped like a circle. Unlike f379, however, it does not have a pronounced stone wing sticking out from it into the structure. This is probably because, given the location of the structure in relation to the palace wall, it was possible to dig down to and replace the stones in line with the later construction a36, while the north side was closed in by the palace wall or palace wall construction.
