Whereas we had only seen about 2/3 of the andiron from above, the whole base of the andiron is preserved. sb consolidated the remainder, and we left the accumulation sitting above the bridge. After consulting with gb & mkb we decided to leave the andiron in situ. We will place sandbags around it and a bag of sand inside it, then cover it with plastic and backfill in order to preserve it from the elements. [Input: L906okk.j] |
