Description (summary) 2002-09-16 jlw triangular shaped calcite crystal, probably associated with pottery making at the southernmost of two pit kilns, a31, in k13. It was recovered from the upper portion of the kiln chamber along with two clay blocks(i224, q708.2) and a fragment of a grinding stone(q708.3). Calcite particles were a constituent of the temper of cooking pots and this crystal may have been the source for the potter using the kiln. [Input: M916jw.j]
