Text description of view | 2006-08-17 | eDB | This is a view of a circular area of scorched soil on a larger oval of packed soil, f138. It is likely that the burning occurred after the tell was abandonded. In and of itself, the burn spot is insignificant; however it is at the same place as a sucession of earlier circular features, probably dating from the Mittani period. These include a circle of small stones encased in soil mortar and a pit dug into the surface of the original baqaya layer which covered the temple mound from the time it was constructed in the Early Dynastic Period.
