This photograph documents the progress of excavations in the south half of k2, which is south of the previously excavated German trench that was a part of unit B6. The natural accumulation, f533, which covered the second apron of large boulders, f532, has been removed. It can now be seen that the apron slopes down from north to south and has two components. To the west f532 is composed of large boulders placed to form a flat surface, while to the east f532 is composed of smaller bolders arranged in rows running east to west. Several large stones visible in the photo are not in place, f524, f543. To the south of the part of f532 that is now visible is natural accumulation f557. [Input: RY01JW.j] |
