This photograph is a general view to the north of loci k106 and k107 taken after most of the excavations were complete there, but before the N-S baulk separating these loci from k1 and k2 to the west had been removed. The top part of the south face of monumental wall, f569, had been exposed, as had lines of memory stones, f591, which had been placed atop it after f569 had been covered with natural accumulation. One can see the stepped stone structure, f556 in the top part of the photograph. At the very top appear two new features that were not named at the time of excavation: an unexcavated pillar of soil, f636, and an isolated stone, f637. [Input: RY01JW.j] |
