Districts

Urban districts and wider features of the built environment. While the elements of the archaeological frame are part of a labeling system, according to which they can be “named” and indexed, there are other aspects which are not so defined. Urban districts are meaningful wholes which subsume certain areas. Their significance will increase in the measure in which excavations progress and the configuration of the ancient citu becomes better known.
