Today we didn't excavate in this locus because we have to take a good picture of the big stones lying next to the exposed later escarpment. These stones were in part still covered in J5k100 but tomorrow in the early morning we will be able to take pictures and then to remove the stones f314.3 and f314.4. [Input: T718LC.j] |

Today we planned to remove the big stones f314.3 and 314.4, but in fact we removed just f314.3 because the other stone was too heavy to be carried up. In the afternoon some workmen supervised by Mohammed Omo will try to break it in some pieces. So tomorrow we will expose the floor all over k129 and then we will try to go down looking for the slope of the second escarpment. [Input: T718LC.j] |

Today we removed the accumulation f315, that was much denser to the north, next to the stones of f318. the accumulation was abutting both the stones of f318 and the big stones, probably floating, and perhaps coming from the bench next to the revetment wall. Then we started to excavate f319, an accumulation below the sherds, bones and pebbles accumulation. Removing this layer we are finding other pebbles and sherds belonging probably to another accumulation of the same type. [Input: T731LC.j] |

Today we removed the last remaining corner of accumulation f319. Then dM took photos of the accumulation of sherds bones and pebbles f322, that was excavated before breakfast. f322 was above another very thin accumulation, f323. f323 was excavated just in the western part of k129, next to the big stones, where we uncovered a new sherd and pebbles pavement, f324 that seems much better of the previous ones. Tomorrow we will check if it is extending all over the surface of k129. [Input: T731LC.j] |

Today we removed part of the accumulation f323, uncovering a small but very compact pavement, f324. It was photographed and then removed, showing another pavement f325, built of small sherds and small pebbles. Also f325 was photographed and after we removed the exposed part of the pavement we recognized that it was continuing to the south sloping sharply. So tomorrow we will finish uncovering it and we will take new pictures even if part of it has been removed. f326, a floating stone next to the east baulk, even if in line with f314.3 and 314.4, was removed because it didn't show relationships with any another structure. Today we finished to remove the accumulation f323 uncovering the sloping pavement f325. Then we removed the big stones f328.1 and 318.2 so pavement f325 was fully exposed. Next days we will remove the pavement following the surface of second escarpment f239. [Input: T731LC.j] |

Today lC and aGA drawn the small east section of k127 and then we removed it assigning just one feature, f330. Being in this area some many different accumulations it was to difficult to distinguish them in such reduced area. Then we expanded the excavation to the south removing a small area of about 1,40x1,40 meters, to expose the other face of wall f259. [Input: T808LC.j] |

Today we removed f330 and then we expanded the excavation to the west to expose more surface belonging to pavement f325. [Input: T808LC.j] |

Today we removed pavement f325, except for a narrow strip next to the stones J5f225, to show their important relationships in order to determinate a date for them. Then we tried to follow the surface below the pavement, sloping to the south. It appears different from the red accumulation of late escarpment f239, and it could also be part of the early escarpment. Tomorrow we will try to better understand this context. [Input: T808LC.j] |

Today we removed part of the accumulation f337 found below the pavement f325, trying to look for the sloping surface of the early escarpment. We uncovered a very hard and sloping surface but for now we are not sure about its interpretation. This seems a good stopping point for k129, except for a sort of probe sounding we will excavate to the west of the stone wall f259 to look for its western face. [Input: T808LC.j] |

Because the ^esc1 doesn't seem preserved in the eastern portion of k127 the ash f341 could be misunderstood with the ash f241-f278. So we took picture of it and then removing this layer, other pebbles belonging to f343 were uncovered. After the meeting with fAB we decided to remove part of the floor f338 to the west of the pebbles to check what below and to look for the face of wall f259. Removed the floor we found a soft accumulation brown in color with probably Late Chalcolithic sherds. This accumulation f346 was covering another hard surface sloping to the south and a thick patch of baqaya probably linked to the other baqaya f342 right next to the wall. [Input: T808LC.j] |

Today we removed f343 (pebbles alignment) and the accumulation f346 uncovering floor f351, that was soon removed to follow the baqaya f353 going down, along the western face of wall f259. [Input: T815LC.j] |

Here we are continuing the small probe sounding. The two patches of baqaya f342 and f353 were removed to see the western face of wall f259, that seems built of just one row of stones. Moreover the thick layer of baqaya f353 doesn't abut the face of the wall. Also the floor f352 was in part removed, but leaving a small witness to the west. [Input: T815LC.j] |

In k129 we continued to remove the floor f351 uncovering many different layers of floor surfaces formed by natural agents. We didn't continue to work here after breakfast because one workman left for private problems. [Input: T815LC.j] |

In the small sounding we finished to remove f352 uncovering another natural compacted floor f364. Then we started to remove the compact red to brown in color accumulation f363 to the north finding more pebbles of f343. Once removed those pebbles and checked that the stones of f339 were floating, or at least not belonging neither to wall f259 nor f288, and just resting on top of f343 we removed them, except for f339.5, a big stone clearly embedded in the early escarpment. The ash f341, probably dating to Late Chalcolithic was just on top of these stones. [Input: T815LC.j] |

Today we resumed the excavation, even if in a small scale, to check the last question before the end of the season. We cut back few cms the early escarpment in order to expose the surface of wall f288. For the same aim we removed the ashy layer f341. Then we excavated to the west of the wall to look for an its eventual continuation to the west. We recovered the continuation to the north both of the pebbles alignment f343 and the baqaya f353, that here was clearly abutting the wall. We stopped after the removal of the baqaya on top of harder gray sloping surface that could also be the same of f352 to the south, but cut by the erosion f344 because of water flowing.
