Gianmaria Buccellati

Buccellati Holding Italia S.p.A.

A genuine interest in cultural values, coupled with family ties, have led to an ongoing financial support for the Project. Gianmaria is a brother of Giorgio, the co-director of the Mozan/Urkesh Archaeological Project. In some ways, the common interest in the appreciation of significant objects has brought them even closer in their adult life. The consonance between the two brothers is symbolized by the pair of objects below:
  • the representation of a boar, dating to about 2250 B.C. found by Giorgio at Urkesh,
  • and a silver boar designed and produced, around 2000 A.D., by Gianmaria.
