An important aspect of the Urkesh Browser Edition (or UGR = Urkesh Global Record) is that the largest part of the display is generated automatically through special programs. These programs process input files that are entered in a variety of ways, but always following criteria that are quite intuitive. The great power of the system as a whole lies precisely in this high level of interactivity made possible through the vast number of hyperlinks and computations, all generated automatically. The result is the interlocking of the vastest possible database, and the consequent quickest possible verification of assumed correlations.
The portion that is generated manually contains both introductory information and a comprehensive synthesis, presented in the traditional "linear" style of archaeological reports. This is assembled after the global record proper (i.e., the portion that is generated automatically) has been completely assembled.
