The exhibit was planned for the fall 2008, to coincide with the appointment of a new US Ambassador to Damascus and the re-opening of the American Cultural Center in Damscus.
The appointment was delayed, and in the meantime the Exhibit was mounted in the garden of the Ambassador’s residence in Damascus for the 4th of July reception in 2010.
Following the appointment of Ambassador Robert S. Ford in January 2011, the exhibit was mounted in March 2011 in the National Museum in Damascus.
