J4 can be considered a part of a service area east of the monumental staicase. And despite what can be considered limited use phases, there are activities that would attest to this use and function.

Fill
Pit fill f137, dating to the Middle Mittani period contained multiple ash layers, and a high number of pottery sherds and bones.
Pit fill f86, also dating to the Middle Mittani period, contained many animal bones, including a Salouki dog and frogs, and some sherds, with no other type of artifacts.
