The volume excavated

During the 2006 excavation season of J4, fifteen 5x5 loci were excavated, amounting to 300 square meters. It is important to note that one of these 15 loci (k100) is made up from the southern half of k83 and northern half of k84, therefore, it was not calculated in terms of the size of the surface area. It was however, considered in terms of depth, since being excavated to the lowest level reached in this unit.

The volume excavated in J4 was calculated by considering each locus separately, because not all loci reached the same depth. Based on these calculations, approximetly 658 cubic meters were excavated during the season.
