To encourage the readers to follow the linear flow of an argument while at the same time checking on links when desired, I use the concept of inquiry paths. The application is quite simple: in this format, links appear in the lower frame, much as footnotes do in an argument that is developed linearly. This approach is used especially in the education section, to facilitate the channeling of information in support of explanatory argument.
For example, if I were to develop an argument about the Sumerian influence on Urkesh, I might refer first to the general notes on political development, and the to the section about languages in context, proceeding then to show a concrete example of a Sumerian text from Urkesh.
