Overview
There often are very strong winds at the site, at all seasons and including the summer, where we are in residence. We have occasionally measured their force, but only for practical reasons, i.e., in relationship to the flying of kites, which we use for aerial photography. These measurements have not been recorded.

Sandstorms
We often witness violent sandstorms, which last generally for a few hours. They disrupt our work, and can be rather damaging. They also give a good idea of the eolic processes that affected site formation in antiquity, and to this extent the visuals below can be quite instructive. They are linked to specific sections of the website for which they provide useful documentation.
