     Descending the steep steps of this underground structure is one of the most adventurous, and exciting, moments of a visit to Tell Mozan. It is impressive because of the nature of the structure as preserved. But it is even more so when one thinks of the meaning it held for the ancient.

     We were able to identify the precise function and meaning; we were even able, in fact, to assign to it its ancient Hurrian name, abi because the match between finds we made inside and what ancient Hurrian texts said about exactly this type of finds.

     The only thing missing to the structure as preserved today is the roof. But we have a pretty good idea of what it would have looked like.
