In preparation for the excavations of C2, it was decided to open a long trench that would link stratigraphically the Temple area with the area to the south (C2) where a residential area was expected. The excavations were entrusted to the DOG team under the direction of Peter Pfälzner, and the plan was to integrate fully this operation within the Urkesh Global Record (UGR) system. As things developed, this did not unfortunately prove possible, and thus B6, as well as C2, appear within a separate publication series. |
