Introduction

The type of contact “to cap or to sit in” is relatively rare in A6. No instances of caps have been recorded, while sit in accounts for only about 3%.

Sit in

All recorded cases involve elements that are sit in accumulations, with the exception of walls. These elements include mud-bricks and kitchen-related installations, such as tannur (oven), hearth, or artifacts sit in accumulations. In the case of walls, this relationship occurs when new walls are constructed on top of older, original walls. A clear example in A6 is hearth f376, which sits in accumulation f380.
