Description/Count
description (summary) 2008-8-11 lR A compact layer originally defined as brickmelt since the appearance resembled clay that had been melted from the rain, then baked by the sun forming a crust. We later redefined this feature after excavating it as the ancient tell surface at abandonment, with the compaction resulting from walking on the surface and natural rain and sun exposure. f27 was created to subsume all the compact brickmelt layers in A20 for ease in reference an event although the discrete feature numbers are still present according to loci. f16 was only found in the northeast corner runs to the south for 200 cm with ash f22 abuting f16 in the south and west. Recovery/Assignment
daily notes 2008-7-15 lR At the end of the day, efforts were moved into k2 after finding the compact layer in the northwest corner of k3 suggesting that it continued into k2. The compact surface was found after scraping the area with the northeast corner defined. [Input File: S715lr.J]
