Typological reasons 2008-8-18mKB h1cJPB Date is based on the large number of Ninevite 5 sherds. The Mittani sherds are out of place as explained by the excavator, [Input file: S825MKB1.J / S825MKB1.-J]
2009-9-26mKB probably Phase 3h sherds: q1191- p5, q1190- p4, q1190- p7 all flaring rim jars with square rim, q1190- p6 deep bowl with square rim, q1190- p12 narrow rim diameter jar with rounded rim, q1185- p9 short necked jar with globular body, q1190- p9 large jar with folded rim. Phase 3h sherds: q1193- p1, q1190- p4 pointed bases (the problem of this double number - p4 must be solved later), q1191- p9 flat base with band around border of the base, q1191- p6 small beaded rim bowl with rounded carination, q1193- p1 small cup with ribbing on exterior each rib separately decorated with lightly incised running triangles, q1185- p7 small bowl with incised and excised decoration, q1190- p19 small bowl with excised and incised decoration, q1195- p2 tiny body sherd with incised and excised decoration, q1191- p70 body sherd with large excised and incised decoration, q1190- p72 small painted body sherd with herring bone design, q1185- p4, q1190- p16 small bcarinated bowls with rounded carination, q1185- p8 and q1185- p1 small bowls with simple rim, two body sherds painted with bands from later strata. Other reasons 2009-9-26mKB 3h mixed with 2h [Input file: T926MKB1.J / T926MKB1.-J]
2009-9-26mKB in this feature there is a mixture of these two early phases. The Ninevite sherds are dated to both Phase 3f (characterized by small shapes finely decorated with incised and excised type decoration) and the latest phase (Phase 3h characterized by larger incised and excised decoration, here the only example is q1191- p70). The painted sherd that may date to Ninevite V would be part of early Ninevite V period. The flaring rim jars with square rims begin in the late Ninevite V period but in Tell Arbit at least they have wider rim diameters; there too they continue into the Early ED III period. We do not have as yet well stratified Ninevite V examples elsewhere on the site. [Input file: T926MKB1.J / T926MKB1.-J]
