General notes on photos

jlw
most tannurs that we find are free standing with their bottoms resting on a floor surface. This one,
f215
, was apparently sunk into a pit,
f248
that was dug for the purpose of lowering the mouth to floor level. The main view shows the body of the tannur that had its southern half excavated in MZ6.
v59a
, along the top of the tannur shows the outline of the pit.
