Description (summary) 2002-09-11 ms This view is looking W and shows more fully the circle of stone in k27. This is after the removal of f388 and the section of f382 against the circle, f352, so that the stones are more visible. Along the edge of f369, it is possible to see the corner of a plastic bag which was either sucked down the fissure during the rains of two winters previous, the manner in which most of the modern contamination reached the lower levels, or was buried very near the surface as a result of our failure to backfill the inside of the structure this past winter. We decided to change our excavation strategy and move down to this lower level primarily because of our discovery of f387 in the upper level, to give us time to properly draw the section including that feature (our previous section drawing did not record it).
