Back to top: Stone architecture conservation in unit J4
Stone architecture
J4 does not contain any significant large stone structures. The few that were unearthed are small walls, consisting of one row of small stones or in the shape of an apron f10, and some stone installations that constitute part of bin installation a2. There are some isolated stones that were mostly removed. These structures did not require any form of special treatment in order to conserve them. And although the daily notes of the unit’s excavators did not mention what was done to ensure the safety of these structures at the end of the excavation season, it is the standard protocol in Mozan to cover the layers and structures with plastic covers and back dirt. There is o reason to assume that J4 was treated any differently.
