This view shows what remains of the E section of k83 and the E section of k84 (with the string used for the drawing of the section). This photo is intended to show the layers of accumulation that characterizes the E section of k83 and k84, such as the topsoil (which consists mostly of wind-blown soil), a reddish layer made of bricky material (which is part of the dump^1), and a brick-melt layer; in the lower portion of what remains of the E baulk of k83 (cut by T10, a W-E trench dug by a German team of the university of Tubingen during the investigations of the tell mound carried out during the 1999-2001 excavation seasons) a thick ash layer is cleary visible. The top accumulation in k83 is f70. [Input: U320SC2.j] |
