Vertical bricks found clustered in the southwest corner of k3 at the same level as the tannur f42. These bricks have no specific shape, appearing haphazardly oriented with no presence of mortar between the bricks. Underneath, in section view from A18, a tannur f100 lies underneath f68. The bricks are sitting on ash from f22 that spreads into k3 labeled as f36 in k3 with the bricks set in a pile perhaps serving as a retaining wall to keep the ash from reaching the eastern side. The bricks may also be associated with the tannur f42, perhaps used as a rough platform. [Input: S813LR.j] |
