Stratigraphy

Phase 7a is the period of the fist Mittani evidences in J1. A nice pebble and sherd pavement was built all over the area in front of the wall and the escarpment. It should be considered as the pavement of the Plaza.

Right on top of the pavement a sort of curtain/screen wall was found. These Mitanni evidences are visible on top of EDIII and Ninevite 5 period levels. The long chronological gap and the lack of material dating to this period are not easily explainable. One assumption is the area of the Plaza was kept clean for about one millennium because of its great importance.
