Description (summary) | 2009-08-19 | lC | Thin ash layer found all along the western preserved portion of wall f288. This ash layer was also covering in part the stones of f339. It doesn't have to be confused with the ash f241, recovered in its vicinity, but in between the two escarpments and for this reason so much later. Because in this area the surface of ^esc1 was eroded, the two ashy layers were almost adjoining. [Input: T815LC.j] |

Recovery/Assignment

Daily notes about recovery of elements | 2009-08-27 | lC | today we removed this thin layer of ash and just few body sherds were recovered. It was in part on top of the stones belonging to wall f288, and in part on top of a sloping accumulation f369. [Input: T831LC.j] |
Argument | 2009-08-27 | lC | It seems clear now looking at the section that the ash layer f341 on top of the wall f288 is the same as the ash to the west visible in section and sloping south under the fill of the early escarpment. It is itself likely part of this filling, linked with the stones f339. [Input: T831LC.j] |

Stratigraphic reasons of assignment | 2011-02-11 | lC | Ash part of the filling of Early Escarpment. The doubt at the beginning arised because the ash was on top of the stones belonging to structure a8. The pottey analisys clarifyed its date, as EDIII, mixed with LC material, typical of the features below the earlier escarpment. [Input: V212LC.j] |
Typological reasons for assignment | 2009-09-24 | mKB | (q1289) -p3 coarse ware bowl or jar, ED III wares: -p2 tan-brown bowl with upper body slightly bent toward the exterior, no carbon core, chaff and small calcite temper, -p1, -p6 body sherds in fine high fired greenish buff wares, -p5 conical cup in S ware secondarily fired.
