Publisher’s description

We had an indication of how far the Plaza extended to the south from a wall exposed by the German team in C2 which matches in typology and location the revetment wall of the Temple Terrace. In the 2008 season we decided to open a triangular swath with the acute angle by this wall, in such a way that one might obtain a view of the staircase and of the revetment wall from the same elevation as the ancient plaza and from the same distance the ancients had when entering the Plaza at its southern end. Since the deposit was expected to be inert, i.e., without any structures, it was possible to excavate here with larger crews and therefore with greater speed.
