3. STRATIGRAPHY

Recovery/Assignment

Roster Date Author Record
Argument 2006-10-04 lC Even if excavated during 2005 season when the stratigraphic situation at the base of the Revetment Wall wasn't very clear yet, I think that this feature is part of the second escarpment because of many similarieties with ^esc2: the bricky texture of the filling, the sealing found inside, the stratigraphic relationship with the bench (a6), the stone escarpment f318, the ^esc2 filling f189, f239. f158 is at much higher elevation, but the bricky material is sloping to the east and it is hardly damaged by the water erosion. Stratigraphic reasons of assignment 2006-10-06 mS this appears to be packing for the stones or bench, a6, set against the lower part of the wall which is dated to Mitanni and part of the lower accumulation against the wall. [Input: QX06MS1.j]
Notes on time sequencing 2011-02-11 lC According to the later excavation in J1 and J5, this features clearly date back to the EDIII on the bases of the recovered ceramics and the stratigraphy. More complex the interpretation, could it be a structural part of the Late Escarpment or just washed material from above the terrace? [Input: V212LC.j]
