Description (summary) 2004-07-06 jw Accumulation above stone and sherd pavement, f230, in the entire locus of k15. Sealed by accumulations that yeilded large amounts of pottery with string-cut bases. There are also a number of large ashlars, f227, in the matrix. [Input: O706JW2.j]
2004-07-06 jw Accumulation around large cut stones in the entire locus, k15. Basically the same color and texture as the accumulation overlying, f220, but this accumulation covers an extensive layer of fist-sized stones and sherds. [Input: O706JW3.j]
2004-07-07 jw Originally defined as unclassified accumulation in the entire locus of k15, the discovery of the sherd and pebble surface surface, f230, directly underneath means that this feature qualifies as a living accumulation and has particular importance in determining when f230 was in use. Notes on time sequencing 2004-07-06 jw Our current presumption is that the ashlars may mark the western extent of sacral precinct in Phase 2 or 3. Analysis of the pottery, excavated today, which comes from the deepest part of the current excavation should provide some indication of the validity of the hypothesis. Pottery from lots q542, q535, and q528 should be analyzed. [Input: O706JW2.j]
2004-07-10 mkb I looked at q528, q535, q542. Are there any other q-lots from this feature? This floor, on the basis of the three q-lots analyzed, is from Phase 3. Since this feature is an accumulation a we have taken it for complete analysis this season. [Input: O710MKB.j]
