Daily notes about recovery of elements 2008-08-16 lR We opened this locus today removing approximately 10 cm in half of the square by the end of the day however after the stratigraphic meeting, it was decided to scale back excavations, thus closing k25. The area was leveled and cleaned. [Input: S816LR.j]
2010-09-14 yM Today we opened this square that we began excavating in MZ21. We started by removing the top soil layer f167 then the natural accumulation layer f170 that was under it. We did not finish the removal yet, we will continue tomorrow. [Input: U907YM.j]
2010-09-15 yM Today we continued removing the natural accumulation layer f170 exposing the bricky materials underneath it in the western part of the locus, that could be the wall that bonds with the ^wall1. [Input: U915YM.j]
2010-09-16 yM Today we started by cleaning the square well, then we removed the rest of f170 in the south western corner of the locus. After that we proceeded by removing the accumulation layer f177. By removing this feature we uncovered some mud bricks. We are assuming that those mud bricks are a wall, but we can only be sure by further excavating in that square. [Input: U916YM.j]
2010-09-18 lC Finished to remove the natural ashy accumulation f177 we uncovered some mudbricks. We are not yet sure if they belong to clear structures, but seem possible that they can be part of at least three different walls running in different directions and constituted of vertical or flat mudbricks. Then we assigned a new number to the ashy accumulation f180 because we are already deeper then the crests of possible walls, so it could be a filling inside a room or a structure. [Input: U918LC.j]
2010-09-19 yM Today we removed f175 to try and expose the bricks better. It seems that we have in the eastern part of the square a line of bricks against which there are vertical bricks. While in the south western part of the locus, next to the bricks, we have what seems to be the fill of a pit. We have not assigned any feature numbers to these components yet, we will wait to understand the situation better. [Input: U919YM.j]
2010-09-20 yM Today we started by removing the fill of the pit f180 west of the vertical bricks f191. The pit f189 seems to cut the mud brick wall f188. while in the north eastern part of the locus we started removing the brick fall layer f184 uncovering the stone pavement underneath it f190. [Input: U920YM.j]
2010-09-21 yM We started by cleaning to take pictures, then we continued removing the brick fall layer f184 uncovering the stone pavement f190. In the same time in the south western part of the locus we continued removing the fill of the pit f180 until we reached the bottom surface. [Input: U921YM.j]
2010-09-25 yM Today we removed f196 exposing the bricks under it. [Input: U927YM2.j]
2010-09-26 yM We decided to remove the southern part of f191, where we thought there are no more vertical bricks, in order to uncored the continuation of pavement f190 that lays under f191, but as we proceeded we found some more vertical bricks, so we stoped. [Input: U927YM2.j]
