There are three parallel ways of looking at the data:
- the matrix is the raw setting in which data are first encountered;
-
once extricated from the matrix, the data can be aggregated according to criteria that are
- either intra-referential, i. e., based on criteria derived from the elements identified in the matrix,
- or extra-referential, i. e., based on data found outside the matrix;
-
a selection of the data can then be restructured, both physically through conservation and descriptively through presentation.
- Finally, data can be re-appropriated as they are integrated and recognized as “heritage” by those who share the same territorial identity.
For a description of the website pages that implement these principles, especially in the unit books, see in the UGR website.
