| Strategy (projected or implemented) | 2005-09-03 | jW | At the suggestion of gB, we agreed to speed our investigation of the construction of the wall by forming a new locus consisting of the southern half of k104 with a further southern extension in the western half of the south baulk to meet the monumental wall, f11. In this way we can continue the typological column in a reduced area nevertheless expected to yield diminished quantities of the same kinds of pottery, while at the same time seeing how the monumental wall was constructed. The western section of the baulk was selected to minimize the danger posed by overhanging stones from both f10 to the east and f11 to the south. [Input: P903JW.j] |
