View of group of large "floating" stones, f14,15,16,17,18,19 contained in loess, f13, in k101. A small area of compacted soil and stones of unknown use, f12, is also shown. It is all but certain that the floating stones washed down from deteriorating structures higher on the temple mound. Furthermore, since they were not carried away and re-used we can assume that this movement of the stones occurred after the tell was abandoned. [Input: P809GM2.j] |
