Locus k21 was first excavated as part of unit J2 several seasons ago. They were searching for the revetment wall, but the season ended before it was found. It was re-named k21 and excavation resumed in MZ19. The limestone blocks, f210, f211, and f212 had been partially excavated and this photo was taken just after excavations resumed. Limestone block f236 is a bit lower in elevation (20 cm), but part of the same depositional pattern. All the limestone blocks sit in natural accumulation, f203 [Input: RX31JW.j] |

View 97 was taken during the excavation of the southern half of k21, a trench partially excavated as a part of J2 several years ago. Five limestone blocks can be seen, only four of which can be positively identified. The block farthest to the north (left) was tentatively designated as f254. Elsewhere, the feature is described as a natural accumulation in which other limestone blocks sit. The large stone is undoubtedly one of many that could not be linked to a specific structure and therefore were removed in the final days of the excavation.
