The top 11cm were first removed and then the next 6. The ac was was soft and a darker brown. [Input: G720RK.J]
1996-07-23 rK We are removing the last layer assigned f166 label. This is West of f29, about 4-5 cm high. 2 pickmen are removing it. [Input: G803RK.J]
Strategy (projected or implemented) 1996-07-17 rK Digging with the large pick yielded 2 seal impressions in the first 5-10 minutes of excavation. So we switched to the small pick to excavate more carefully. [Input: G720RK.J]
1996-07-17 rK The floor at the bottom of the pit f29 is 35 cm from the top of f166. It was decided to dig down to this level with bip picks. We will go in 2 stages, 15cm first, 15cm again, and dig more slowly the last 5 cm. [Input: G720RK.J]
