In MZ10 the brick structure labelled f224 was first described as an addition to burial(a11). Further excavation revealed it to be a wall below the burial, at which time it was given a new feature number, f307. To quote from the ds of f307 in the MZ10 book: "The wall(f307) runs north-south below the eastern end of the grave; 25 cm past the southern wall of the grave, the wall forms a right angle and continues to the east. It was this exposed portion south of the grave which was designated as f224, a brick addition to a11. 10 cm of accumulation separate the bottom courses of the grave structure (f192) from the top of the wall." At the beginning of MZ12 failure to consult the MZ10 book resulted in the wall receiving yet another feature number, f372. One correction to the previous season's book was made, however, by the assignment of a separate feature number, f375, to the adjoining east-west wall. [Input: j706cln.j] |
