Surfaces
Surfaces are horizontal layers characterized by having upper and lower marked boundaries and are generally compacted so that they are easy to expose. We distinguish between floors and pavements. A floor is compacted by the walking by of people. It is characterized by different inclusions. We can have pebble floors, sherd floors, a mixture of both, or simply compacted earth. We can observe the horizontal laying of sherds. Floors are associated with structures and testify their use.
