Description (summary) 2008-08-02 mM After we have reached f238 on the whole area, we divided the area in k126 and k127. k126 goes from the wall to m4756. [Input: S807MM2.j]

Recovery/Assignment

Roster Date Author Record
Daily notes about recovery of elements 2008-08-02 rE k126 is the south part of of the baulk in J1. [Input: S720RE.j]
2008-08-06 rE today we removed f264, which is the mud lamination under f243. Under f264 we found f268, which is pavement floor, contains very small pubbles and different sizes of sherds. While removing f264 we found f269, which is piece of baqaya material. [Input: S720RE.j]
2008-08-09 rE today we made a small trench to check if f265 goes under f239 or above it. Then we found out that f239 overlays a small part of f265. We started removing f263 the baqaya piece. [Input: S720RE.j]
2008-08-10 rE Today we continued removing f265, which is a thin hard floor sloping sharply south west. [Input: S720RE.j]
2008-08-13 rE Today we finished removing f263, and f274 which is the earliest circle sherds in the bottom of the hearth. [Input: S813RE.j]
2008-08-14 rE We followed the continuation of f268 to the west, by removing f273. Then we found out that f268 goes all the way to the west section, but is not extended in the whole locus k126. [Input: S813RE.j]
2008-08-16 rE We removed f273 from the whole area. We found under f273 to the south f280 which is grey accumulation, presumably continuing in the south section. To the north west of f280 we found f276, which is sloping to the south underneath f280. Due to the sloping configuration of the area, we have several features in k126, namely f280, f276, f268 and f239. [Input: S813RE.j]
2008-08-20 rE We are trying to make k126 at the one level by removing steps from f239. [Input: S813RE.j]
2008-08-25 mM Today we kept removing f280 in the south west corner of the trench. We found a new feature underneath it, a reddish accumulation that looks like f239. We named it f281. In addition, we assigned the new feature number f283 to the accumulation underneath f268, and we also started to remove it. [Input: S825MM.j]
2008-08-26 mM We removed part of f283. [Input: S826MM.j]
2008-08-27 rE To the south west of k126, we tried to follow f185 to the south, which is a very hard accumulation looks like the early escarpment f196, But it stops. We don't know if it's a cut or it makes a step. It's difficult to clarify the situation of f285 this year, due to the small trench we are digging, the slope of the features and we don't have enouph time to dig more. To the south of f285 we found f281 under f280, which is a reddish hard material. To the south of f281 we found f291. Both f281 and f291 will be excavating in further excavation. [Input: S813RE.j]
