Description | 2006-9-30 | mS | an accumulation which is packed with sherds and stones. This may also be a surface such as f232, but it is a different matrix, much darker and more compact. f240 seems to slope to the south following the slope of the escarpment and may be the same feature as f238 which we will determine after more excavation. f240 abuts and overlays minimally f239, the mudflows directly to the north and overlaying the escarpment. [Input file: Q926MS.J / Q926MS.-J] |
2006-10-2 | mS | continues down several cm, and remains densely packed with pebbles, sherds and bones. This does slope down and gradually merge with f239 which is less densely packed. [Input file: Q926MS.J / Q926MS.-J] |
Argument | 2008-8-3 | rE | Part of this feature was excavated in MZ19, f240 is the same as f238 and they both overlay f239. [Input file: S720RE.J / S720RE.-J] |
Harmonization | 2011-9-28 | lC | To distinguish from a cronological point of view the two moments (EDIII construction/use and Mittani use) we created two features f900 (EDIII construction) and f901 (Mittani use) that were respectively assigned to s610 s610J1A and s190 s190J1A. The other records remain under f238, f240 and f325. [Input file: V928LC.J / V928LC.-J] |
Problems in recording | 2011-9-28 | lC | This feature (as f238 and f325) was interpreted as the first Mittani pavement in the Plaza. Further analisys show the pavement was built in EDIII and used until Mittani period. The two different moments were excavated as a single one, so the pottery is mixed Mittani, EDIII and Ninevite 5 (coming from levels underneath). [Input file: V928LC.J / V928LC.-J] |

Stratigraphic reasons | 2006-10-7 | mS | this feature may be the same as f238 which is the first surface we have reached which follows the slope of the escarpment. We currently consider this accumulation to be Khabur, stratum 30. [Input file: QX06MS1.J / QX06MS1.-J] |

2011-9-28 | lC | After a review of the overall stratigraphy and a complete pottery analysis the pavement was dated to EDIII period. It was then used until Mittani period, For a more detailed explanation see topic "harmonization strata problems" and "thought about the Plaza". [Input file: V928LC.J / V928LC.-J] | |
