Introduction

Typically “Amorphous Amassment” includes features like fills, dumping and collapse. The isolated stones found randomly scattered throughout the unit were added to this category.

Fills

Two pit fill features were excavated in J4.
1-a3 where multiple ash layers were found, and it contained many pottery sherds, including large ones. Giving the high number of sherds, many could be pieces that make up a complete vessel.

2- a1 where many animal bones were found including a Salouki dog i5 and frogs i6. The description of the fill does not provide details about the nature of the soil. It appears as if nothing besides animal bones were found, leading us to think that it might have been dug especially for this purpose, wheather it is related to a special ritual or not, remains unclear.

Isolated Stones

There were 32 isolated stones distributed randomly all over the loci of this unit. Two types of isolated floating stones are identified.
1) The ones that are truly isolated, in the form of one large floating stone with no other floating stones or stone structures and installations close to it. These stones could be there as a result of natural causes such as a heavy rain that flooded the area and rolled the stone to its current place, or a collapse of a structure somewhere in he vicinty. An example of this is f62.
2)The isolated stones that might in fact constitute a part of a close by stone structure, or constitute some sort of a stone installation with other isolated stones near it. f11, f12, f16, f19, f20 and f104 could be related to wall f10 that got damaged for some reason.
On the other hand, f139, f140, f141, f144, f145, f147, and f148, constitute parts of a stone installation, as their allignement suggest intentional placement, however, this is only an assumption. It is possible that these stones are related to the bin structure a2, or could have been distrube by the placement of the bin.
