Stratigraphy
For the principles of stratigraphic analysis, refer to stratigraphy.
The strigraphical analysis is presented in many layers, offering different approaches regarding the understanding and interpretation of stratigraphy, as an emplacement of structure or a depositional history, or as a chronological sequences of phases and strata.
The J4 stratigraphical sequence presents an interesting case where 3rd millennium layers are found directly below Mittani depositions, in a high area of the tell.

Typology
For the principles of the typological analysis, refer to typology.
The typology section offers a view of the elements (structures, natural deposits, objects and ceramics) within a typological classification which categorizes these elements as a typological unit, regardless of their chronological pertinence.
One structure from J4 presents a typological coherence with the other temple area related structures. Wall f10, interpreted as the western boundary of the revetment wall, fits well within the typological frame of the entire structure.
As for the objects and material culture, all the finds corroborate the nature of the area as a use area.

Integrative
For the principles of the integrative analysis, refer to integrative.
The integrative section offers a view of the strata sequence, early to late, with a time reference, while simultaneously placing the built environment elements within the same frame of reference.
For J4, 5 stages were detected, representing two major phases, the Imperial Akkadian and Mittani.

Conservation
For the principles of the conservation method and approach, refer to re-structuring.
Conservation, being a fundamental element of the excavations in tell Mozan, is presented as a general approach in the designated section on conservation, and here, as a solid practice for each excavations unit, be it for structures or object.
No special conservation measures were taken in J4, since the area did not yield vulnerable structures.

Presentation
For the principles of the presentation method and approach, refer to re-structuring.
The conservation efforts are brought to completion with panels designed to be inobtrusive and informative. And while J4 does not have a panel designated to it, it is represented in the overall understanding of the area, as shown in the temple panorama.
