In yesterday's light, it had been very difficult to see; we found it by scraping, but thought it was an isolated patch, not a layer into which we had cut with a big pick run. Daily notes about recovery of elements 2001-06-26 ed We excavated the orange layer carefully. It occasionally hinted at bricks or bricky material, but this never actually materialized. We have excavated most of it down to the level of f7. It was quite clean, i.e. there were very few sherds. However, under/inside of it (it is not yet clear) are a few large stones, next to each other, f14. These are perhaps related to the f6 ^ad. [Input: L627JL.j]
2001-07-02 jl This feature seems to slope clearly to the south-west. It is probably the same as f17 in k3. We will probably begin excavating it today. [Input: L702JL.j]
