Back to top: Historical development of the eLibrary
Background
The history of the “eLibrary” (i.e., the Urkesh “electronic-Library”, often abbreviated “eL”) is strongly rooted in time; it started thanks to the initiative of Giorgio Buccellati, who was responsible for this website from 2002 onwards.
Here it follows a list of the “historical steps” of the “eLibrary”:
- 2002-2010: Giorgio Buccellati began building up the website, adding the first bibliographical entries;
- 2011-2013: Stefania Ermidoroadded new bibliographical entries;
- 2013-2017: the responsibility of the project passed to Laerke Recht, who contributed to several new bibliographical entries;
- 2018-ongoing: Marco De Pietri took over the reponsibility for the updating of the whole “eLibrary”;
- 2024-ongoing: Saikat Mukherjee started collaborating for the conversion of the old HTML bibliography (see below for further details) to the DABI format.
