Background

The history of the “eLibrary” (i.e., the Urkesh “electronic-Library”, often abbreviated “eL”) is strongly rooted in time; it started thanks to the initiative of Giorgio Buccellati, who was responsible for this website from 2002 onwards.

Here it follows a list of the “historical steps” of the “eLibrary”:

  1. 2002-2010: Giorgio Buccellati began building up the website, adding the first bibliographical entries;
  2. 2011-2013: Stefania Ermidoroadded new bibliographical entries;
  3. 2013-2017: the responsibility of the project passed to Laerke Recht, who contributed to several new bibliographical entries;
  4. 2018-ongoing: Marco De Pietri took over the reponsibility for the updating of the whole “eLibrary”;
  5. 2024-ongoing: Saikat Mukherjee started collaborating for the conversion of the old HTML bibliography (see below for further details) to the DABI format.

Ongoing projects

From the winter of 2024, Saikat Mukherjee (supervised by Marco De Pietri) started converting the “old versions” (HTML) of the sections “Article (staff)”, “Urkesh specific” and “General interest”, to the new DABI versions.
